BACK FROM CHAAAAINAAAAH
hello my babes and babies!
just got back from beijing a few days ago. phew it's hot. was facing temperatures around zero just a few days ago! wah i rlly look like a pillow in my photos la. shits. den borrow ski suit from my auntie's fren omg it's her kid's kiddie ski suit look like a baby i swear everyone was laughing at me even andreu. he was like OMG UR ASS IS A PILLOW. thanks tmd. but i ski betta den him so pfffffft :P
it was pretty cool travelling in shanghai and beijing w/o a tour guide. although one day we went on a tour was to the great wall coz it was cheaper to travel all the way out of the city on tour. hated that day. we refused to get off the coach to the jade/tcm/tea/etcetc factories that they brought us to after the great wall.
had the freedom to go wherever we wanted... the lonely planet was our bible man. haha borrow from library wan. hoho. anw we used it to find good places for food... pubs... clubbing... shopping... was a terrific adventure. haha i laughed at dreu when i found out he brought a compass. but it turned out to be damn useful la. especially at night when we're looking for the clubs coz it's pretty dark and fuckin cold... chinese ppl cannot dance. but they're rlly entertaining to watch. it's actually bloody hilarious u all must see for urself. haha. they kinda... oscillate.
took the overland rail from shanghai to beijing. awesome. it was so clean i thought i was in singapore. until i went to the toilet. but anw it was an experience la. 16 hour journey. took a 2 hour bus ride out of the city into the beijing country side to get to the nanshan ski village. artificial snow but good enough la. :) took awesome pics of their countryside... with their powerlines, huge gas stations, and whithered fruit yards and crops... nanshan looks like jb tho, strangely enuff. haha. first day we arrived at nanshan there was a sand storm. very common in beijing's country side apparently. the sand blows in from the gobi desert. freakin cool but kinda scary and gross to haf sand flying around like locusts. looked like a scene from star wars actually. no sand storm at the cabin we stayed at tho! haha funny coz it was snow on one side and sand at the bottom of the mountain.
forbidden city is huge and i was awe-struck. but a little repetitive. go in spring when at least the scenery's gd...climbed a hill next to it to the temple at the top. supposed to be the highest point in beijing wow the view i tell you. breathtakiing. you can see almost the whole beijing city. haha ok fine beijing is as big as belgium it's impossible but you FEEL like u can!
all in all, it was rlly fun la. figuring out how to get to wherever... getting lost and stumbling onto pub streets, shopping streets, food streets... haha watching communist cartoons!! haha they haf this cartoons about little chinese village kids outsmarting dumb japanese troops and another one about chinese imperial court officials beating random angmohs in random things like olympic games. a little scary actually come to think of it.
now i'm back home. where everything's a little too predictable. sigh. wendy!! i wanna go cambodia!! do u guys wanna go too? backpacking :)
